Key successes
- As the largest enhanced modular buildings project in Ireland to date, this project marks a pivotal moment in the modular construction industry.
- Combination of permanent and modular building solutions with the use of concrete flooring.
- High safety compliance on site with zero LTIs for the full duration of the project.
Community engagement
Throughout the duration of the project, we remained consistently attentive to the needs and concerns of the surrounding community. We proactively engaged with the Neighborhood Watch group and established a system to promptly address any concerns. Additionally, we consistently prioritised controlling noise pollution to ensure minimal disruption to local residents.
Solutions to challenges
Bringing in 152no. modules without disrupting traffic or surrounding neighbourhoods was a challenge. Actavo Modular Buildings worked in conjunction and compliance with our transport partners and neighbouring communities to safely deliver the 4m wide modules.
Challenging ground conditions on site required extensive civils works to be completed prior to module delivery to site.
Significant planning and care went into the logistics of lifting such extreme loads in the manufacturing facility and their installation on site. Acute lifting plans were put in place to assess the weight of each individual module and strategically placing of temporary supports and lifting points to each module to ensure each module ascended and descended vertically and level into position.
Benefits to client
- In excess of 80% of the building fitout was completed in our factory pre-delivery, saving the client time and money.
- The building’s standard 60 year structural warranty will serve the local community for generations.
- Using innovative materials, the school is designed to achieve optimum energy efficiency, flexible interconnectivity and structural integrity.
