Actavo was selected by the main contractor John Sisk & Son to provide a modular project office and site staff welfare facilities on a 37 acre brownfield site in Ringsend, Dublin 4. Actavo Modular installed 63 steel-framed modular buildings totaling 1,751sqm to meet the full project requirements over 2 phases.
Scope of works
Provision of 63 module Staff Welfare and Construction Management offices to accommodate Dublin based staff for the duration of constructing a major capital project.
Demonstrating the flexibility of Actavo Modular hire units, we re-configured 63 modules from our extensive fleet to create a complete site office solution comprising of a 921sqm Construction Management Team Building with 31 modules and an 830sqm Staff Welfare Building, comprising of 32 modules. This incorporated bespoke design team offices for the client.
Our expert team completed all delivery, installation and M&E fit out to enable the facility to be up and running quickly post-delivery to site. Actavo Modular adhered to John Sisk & Son’s Zero Carbon Energy requirements for the electrical fit out.
Phase 1A – 11m x 21m two-storey project management building, 9m x 25m two-storey canteen and dry room.
Phase 1B – 9m x 15m design team offices, 8.4m x 21m two-storey canteen and dry room, 9m x 18m two-storey project management building, 9m x 3m toilet block.
Solutions to challenges
- As the site is located in a highly populated and commercial area of Dublin, Actavo Modular developed a comprehensive delivery and traffic management plan, ensuring communication between all parties on site was considered.
- During the install of Phase 1B, site conditions required Actavo Modular to re-design the link corridor on the first floor of the two project management buildings. Therefore, the corridor length was extended to double its original length. Due to this extension, Actavo designed and manufactured a steel-framed 3m link corridor which was installed seamlessly.
