Providing Insulation, Passive Fire Protection, Scaffold and Protective Coatings services on a project to replace Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal’s control system which utilised Freon gas with a new control system that used Propane gas. The terminal, which ceased production in 2018, is situated in Lincolnshire, England.
Scope of works
The initial scope of works consisted of thermal insulation to c.4,000lm of carbon steel pipework, c.700lm of stainless-steel pipework and c.300m2 of equipment along with c.1,600m2 of passive fire protection to structural steelwork and equipment supports. The insulation specifications and materials were a mix of Acoustic (Armacell), Cold Conservation (Foamglas), Heat Conservation (Rockwool) and Personnel Protection (Mesh Guards) whilst the specified hydrocarbon fire rated PFP material was Promat Fendolite MII.
