Actavo supplied, installed, and derigged event infrastructure over four phases across four weeks for Bloom Festival 2023, Ireland's biggest gardening show. Actavo has worked on this five-day event in Phoenix Park Dublin since it began in 2007.
Scope of works
Actavo provided the trackways, Heras panels, vehicle and pedestrians bridges, cable ramp, and multiple stages. The team also provided multiple marquee scaffolds, scaffold signage structures, access ramps and steps. Actavo hired plant machinery and supplied drivers and standby crew for the event.
Services delivered
- 1,763 trackway panels
- 3,640m2 SupaTrak
- 75 panels TerraTrac
- 100 trackmats
- 718 Heras Panels
- 2 12m x 3m vehicle bridges
- 2 pedestrian bridges
- 675 CCBs
- 30m cable ramp
Key successes
- The project was delivered on time and in budget
- Some key aspects were delivered ahead of schedule - such as the perimeter being blocked off and bridges constructed
Solutions to challenges
Swampy ground due to heavy rain meant installing one of the structures was delayed by a day. Actavo laid track mats for the machines to be able to proceed and careful coordination enabled the team to move on to another part of the project while waiting for the ground to become suitable.
Adapting to changing client needs
During project delivery the client requested additional structures to be supplied and installed. Actvao built 14 bike racks off site and installed them at the event site in Phoenix Park.
While the project was underway, the client requested CCTV cameras to be installed in the car parks and at the event site. Due to Actavo Events trusted relationship with suppliers, the team was able to price, procure and install the cameras within a week.
Benefits to client
Adaptability
The team quickly adapted to unforeseen changes in desired deliverables and timelines.
Experience
A high level of trust between the client and Actavo due to seasoned Project Managers and site supervisors continually delivering projects on time despite challenges.
