Actavo-OJ’s E&I Services JV, a joint venture between Actavo (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited and OJ’s Electrical & Instrumentation Services Limited, provides electrical and instrumentation services to the energy sector in Trinidad & Tobago. Actavo-OJ’s was contracted to transfer all Pump House No. 3 loads to La Carriere Substation at Paria’s facility located in the Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery. Pump House No. 3 was powered from obsolete and unreliable equipment and required urgent improvement for Paria’s operations.
The main repair works were as follows:
• Excavation of cable trenches
• Supply and installation of power cables
• Supply and installation of control stations
• Testing and commissioning
Scope of works
The scope of works entailed:
- Manual excavation of cable trenches
- Supply and installation of power and control cables, local control station, ammeter, start/stop push buttons, indication lights, emergency stop panel, 440V distribution panel and grounding system
- Modification and testing of existing 2.3kV MCC
- Installation of transformer
- Painting of motors
- Testing and commissioning of the system
