Key successes
The GeoPal Workflow App was specifically developed for this project. Using the app the 164+ locations were uploaded and assigned to individual crews who carried out in-depth self-audits daily, capturing:
- Pre-condition photographs & information
- In-progress photographs and information (confirming depths of materials etc.)
- Post-works photographs and information
This helped end-to-end management of the project and provided weekly reports confirming quality, conformance to specification and progress.
The project was delivered on time in heavily trafficked locations throughout the Dublin City area.
In-depth stakeholder management ensured minimal impact to local businesses, residents, and road users.
Client satisfaction resulted in the contract being extended by Dublin City Council by an additional 1,000M².
The footpaths and carriageways were bought back to safe standards to eradicate any incidents.
Solutions to challenges
The works were carried out in urban locations throughout the Dublin City Council administrative area with heavy footfall and vehicular congestion.
Actavo coordinated site-specific TTMP’s secure road opening licences. The team implemented traffic and pedestrian management plans for each location.
Actavo successfully maintained access to premises during the works through building temporary walkways for businesses and residences.
Benefits to client
Vastly improved footpath and carriageway conditions to prevent any potential future incidents.
Additional locations were added to the contract to improve areas that were identified as potentially hazardous.
