Electric Ireland


In 2014, Electric Ireland selected Actavo | In-Home Solutions as their partner to provide residential and SME energy efficiency services across the island of Ireland. We provide nationwide management, installation, maintenance and repair of home heating solutions and budget meters/controllers, all fully branded as Electric Ireland.

Works include:

  • Annual gas boiler service and safety checks and repairs
  • Installation and customer set-up of budget controllers and replacement/removal of controllers

Of these works, the installation of budget controllers is particularly relevant to the installation of ecar home charge points as some of the same skills will be required. On average, we install approx. 1,500 meters per month.

Our Service Engineers have:

  • Gas Safe registration for Gas Engineers and RECI registration for Electricians
  • Experience in installation of budget controllers
  • Experience in services and repair across all makes and models of domestic gas appliances
  • Flexibility in respect of working hours to include call-out rota and/or work overtime as reasonably requested
  • High customer awareness and a focus on high quality service at all times

Our team has deployed a Workforce Management System which allows:

  • Workforce planning for allocation of appointment times on a bulk or individual basis;
  • Automatic allocation of stock, if required, by the appointment job type
  • Routing of jobs to Engineers via their mobile devices
  • Job management for central management of assignments, job details, progress, customer details, and stock orders. Job status is transmitted back from mobile devices in real time during the course of a business day, enabling monitoring of ETA and Service Engineer progress
  • Job details include data items such as: ETA history; calls to customer history; engineer travel status for en‐route and on‐site; job questions; job completion status; and customer signatures;
  • Rules are incorporated into the job control function to ensure critical data is captured before job status can proceed to the next step;
  • Comprehensive reporting and business analytics for monitoring key performance indicators

In delivering SME Energy Services the key to the success of this contract so far has been in delivering a responsive and trustworthy Customer Service, working closely with Electric Ireland to develop a partnership relationship, living Electric Ireland’s brand values in the field and bringing innovative solutions to daily operations.
